Christmas Cheer at Pear Cottage....

We elves try to stick to the four main food groups: candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup...

I seriously needed a good laugh.
I mean the hunch, tears out the eyes, slap my leg,  stomach hurt kind.
Elf does it every time.  Every.Single. Time.
So when I needed some Christmas cheer to decorate my cottage out came Elf (and popcorn and candy and hot chocolate and more candy) Anyhoo the point I was making is after watching Elf and feeling super jolly I decorated.  I put on Christmas carols and sang really loud and off key because every Elf watcher knows...

The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.

I didn't do as much as last year but I did enough.
Enough to put some serious Christmas cheer in our little cottage and I was not so sure that was possible without my Nicholas and still nursing my very lonesome heart.
But I did (with Elf's help)...the best I could.
Then Tom rescues me  (he doesn't even need Elf) and waves his magic wand and makes everything sparkle.  I really seriously think he might have magical powers...for real.

And just for fun I am linking up to Jennifer Rizzos holiday housewalk linky party.
If you want to see some of the most amazing Christmas inspiration then I highly suggest you grab a cup of steaming hot cocoa, a candy cane or maybe something with pumpkin and take a looksy at her

I spy a hot chocolate bar in my dining room and yes we have some every single night.
And by the way Tom and I have been looking pretty seriously for the best snickerdoodle cookie.  It has taken us far and wide and we did find it btw in Napa.
However this little beauty that I made right in my kitchen might be the best I have ever had and that is really saying something.
I will post the recipe if I remember so I probably won't but just know it had burnt butter in it. It was like a cookie cousin to salted carmel ice cream.
That's right it's that good.

Why yes that is a new french sliding door that you see.  And by new I mean my friend was chucking it and said, "Do you want this door?" Ummm why yes I do. Then my magician Tom cut it to size,  added gadgets so that it was a sliding door and installed that gorgeous thing for me to look at every day.
I actually close it so that I can have this view.  When it was a regular pocket door it was never closed. Now that it is this gorgeous thing it is always closed.

Just to show I have indeed been on pinterest...
The reason that we added all this magic....
 The reason there is magic...
I am grateful for Jesus Christ, who is truely the reason for everything.
